Trainer Level: The Key to Success
Part 1 covered the basics, now let’s dive into advanced strategies! Remember, trainer level unlocks everything, so prioritizing it is crucial. Here’s how:
Mass Evolution:
- Focus on XP: Don’t worry about specific Pokemon yet. Catch everything, especially common, low-candy evolutions like Caterpie, Weedle, Pidgey (12 candies) and Rattata (25 candies).
- Ignore Zubats & Spearows: They require 50 candies and are trickier to catch.
- Evolve Strategically: Wait until you have a fully evolved Pokemon or a high-CP candidate before spending Stardust. Evolving a high-CP Pidgey can yield a much stronger Pidgeot than you might think!
- Lucky Egg Power: During Spotlight Hours with double evolve XP, pop a Lucky Egg and evolve everything you can with 12 candies for massive gains. Grind and transfer extras during this time.
Mastering Resources:
- Pokéstop Path: Plan a route hitting many Pokéstops (think parking lots or lure hotspots) to stock up on Pokéballs.
- Befriend the Locals: Make friends with store managers and lure enthusiasts for regular lure drops.
- Lure Synergy: Find spots with multiple Pokéstops close together and team up with friends to drop multiple lures simultaneously. This creates a catching frenzy!
- Lucky Egg & Lure Frenzy: Combine a Lucky Egg with a multi-lure setup for an XP and resource bonanza. Be prepared to use a battery pack, as this drains your phone quickly!
Bonus Tips:
- Pokécrew Map: Use the Pokécrew map to find rare Pokemon in your area.
- Gym Teamwork: Don’t solo gyms! Team up with friends to build and defend them more effectively.
- Be a Responsible Trainer: Let businesses know you’re playing respectfully and consider supporting them if they offer lures.
