The Farm (Set 21105)
The LEGO Minecraft The Farm set was released in 2014 and contains six hundred pieces. It retails for around $60 USD.
This highly detailed LEGO recreation of a Minecraft farming environment measures over 4” (12cm) high, 8” (22cm) wide and 6” (17cm) deep when fully built. The set comes with four minifigures – Farmer Steve, a cow, pig, and sheep.
You can build a large hay bale barn with opening doors and a silo attached. The barn interior has various farming tools stored inside along with ladders to reach the top floor. Outside there is a fenced animal pen for the cow, pig, and sheep. A carrot, potato, and wheat field can be assembled along with a pond. And don’t forget the charming farmer’s cottage with a bed, oven, crafting table, painting, and torch.
The LEGO designers did an excellent job capturing the look and feel of Minecraft structures and scenery with the pixelated appearance built from LEGO bricks. Fans of the game will love recreating the farming experiences.
Overall this is a great LEGO playset that encourages creativity. Kids will have lots of fun building up the farm and playing with the different features. The modular sections connect together smoothly and are quite sturdy.
Surprisingly, the set also includes some glow-in-the-dark bricks to build zombie eyes! So kids can recreate the tension of fending off monsters at night, while still enjoying playful farming adventures during the day.
